Ultima at l’Auditori

Ultima Oslo Contemporary Music Festival is Scandinavia’s largest contemporary music festival and a key arena for contemporary music and related art forms in the Nordic region. The festival is organized as a foundation comprising seventeen of the most influential art institutions and organizations in Norway.

Ultima festival is truly grateful for the opportunity to make this project possible with Oslo Sinfonietta in Barcelona on May 21 in collaboration with l’Auditori and the Sampler Series. The interest for Norwegian contemporary music is huge internationally. In recent years, Ultima has arranged events including New York in collaboration with Issue Project Room and MATA Festival, and at the Nordic Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2015 in cooperation with OCA.

One of the festival’s founding members is Oslo Sinfonietta. The ensemble comprises leading musicians and members from some of Norway’s most prominent orchestras. Oslo Sinfonietta has since 1993 been under leadership of artistic director and chief conductor Christian Eggen. He is one of the Nordic countries most prominent conductors.

At this concert the highly acclaimed ensemble will perform music from Scandinavia, including two world premieres:
